Letters to Luc: Lucky 7 (Month 7)

Dear Luc,

You turn 7 months, my Lucky 7 baby born on the 7th. You start this month by attending Uncle Brian’s and Auntie Jen’s baby shower. They are expecting a little girl soon for you to play with. It was a lovely day for a picnic. You even got to try out the Bumbo chair from another shower guest.

True to our techie lifestyle, you had a lot of virtual play dates with Mommy’s girlfriends and their babies, spread all across the world.

You are all quite tired after breaching different time zones to see each other through the phone.

Mommy bought you a bunch of new books so we can have bedtime stories together before you go to bed. Mommy hopes you will grow to love books like she does, as they are a window to other worlds.

This month, Daddy and Mommy celebrated our anniversary.

This time last year, we let the world know that you would soon join us. It was our last anniversary as a family of two (or three, with Brother Odin).

Mommy left you for the first time in the evening under the care of your grandma to have a date night out with Daddy.

This month you are starting to crawl, Luc! You aren't very fast yet and prefer to slither on your belly, grabbing whatever you could find under you to slowly inch forward toward alluring objects, like 2-cent plastic cups.

You are starting to be able to balance enough to sit unassisted, but you haven't yet gone back to sitting by yourself from a crawling position.

You visited grandma for the first time at her little flower shop...

And got to meet several of her good friends and shop neighbors.

There was a "Children's Funfest" show going on, and Daddy showed you the farm animals on display.

But really, you were just interested in that bungee exhibit that the older kids were playing on.

You got a brand new cowboy hat after the Funfest!

The activities wore you out, so you zonked out for a nap in your trusty stroller.

You are so full of personality lately, Luc! You can elongate your screams for attention, are still very giggly and love to laugh, and keep goofing off with your daddy.
